AB Review Location 13
Does any one know how to solve location 13? I can't solve the quartic equation I end up with for k. There's no use of graphing calculators and it doesn't seem like the equation can be factored. I don't see any way to simplify the equation and so far the rest of my work seems right. Did any one get an answer?

this is what i did:
x=the time in months
y=ka^x
27.89=39a^3
a=0.894
y=39(0.894)^x
y=39(0.894)^6
y=20
the answer is rounded
Priya, why did you use Y=kA^x?
I actually used Y=Ae^kt because it's exponential, correct?
27.89=39e^k(1)
k=ln 0.715
Y=39e^[4(ln 0.715)] (I used 4 because it said after ANOTHER three months)
And by doing that I got an answer that I didn't have.
isn't t=3 when y=27.89 because it says three months after it stopped advertising.
and then when it says another three months isn't it suppose to be t=6?
i think you thought the "per month" meant t=1.
