HW#9 Area and Volume 10b

Does anyone know how to do 10b. I don't remember how to do it.
How do you find the area of T if you don't know the base of the triangle.

What I tried doing was finding the equation for "l" (in terms of n), and trying to figure out the value of x when it's equal to 0.
I didn't finish the problem yet, but I hope it works!

What I did was I made b represent the base of T so the base of S is "1-b" and the slope of line l would be "1/b". Then, at the point (1,1), the derivative of y, which is the slope of l, equals n. Sorry if I'm wrong though!

So then "1/b" equals n, which means b equals "1/n" so then the area of a triangle is (1/2)bh and you know that h is 1 so then it is (1/2)(1/n)(1) which comes out to be (1/2n)

You have to use the triangle they give you. Use the area of the triangle; base would be 1-x and height would be one. Then, I found the derivative of the equation. Then, I found the slope of the tangent line with the derivative. You make an equation for the tan. line then solve for x. Plug in x into your triangle area equation and solve. Sorry if its complicated! Hope it helps.
