What you do jean is you factor out a square root of 2 out of the original equation. After you do that, you are left with the equation square root of two time square root of (1 plus x^squared/2). If you look at this equation closely and multiply the square root of 2 back in, you'll see that you get the original equation. Then you just have to solve the rest of the problem
